Important Notes on these Exercises before You Proceed: (Diese Bemerkungen auf eigener Gefahr überspringen!) All visitors are welcome to use these items in conjunction with the textbook Komm mit 3. BUT it is important to be aware of some difficulties in their creation. A. Some English definitions have been altered because of a limit of 15 spaces in the vocabulary exercises. Please pardon the awkwardness of some of the English. No real problems. B. When there was not enough space for the noun + article, without which a German noun is useless, one of three things has occurred: 1) obvious articles have simply been omitted ( e.g., all plurals are die). Consult your text or teacher for further details; 2) the base noun is provided as a separate adjacent entry (e.g., Muttersprache precedes die Sprache and die Sprachen). Consequently, the vocabulary as it appears here will not always be precisely identical to that provided in any given chapter of the text. 3) the English definition will include gender: m, f, n or more where space allows. You must include the article in any spelling exercise where it has been provided, or it will not register as correct. C. Finally, it has been necessary to rewrite certain of the phrases slightly because the program treats each instance of any given word (for example, each form of "ich") as though it were a separate word and would tell a student that s/he was wrong for inadvertently picking the "wrong" ich. Essential meanings have been retained.
